Good day all,
Is it possible to reset regular service notification on GP 1.9?Service was done few days ago but on menu board but still 0km till next service. Is it possible to reset it by myself or need to visit official service, again??
As I have tunned machine, official service dont allow modified cars in their garage.
Strange,is it? ??
Any help/advice please

Thanx

With DPF equipped diesels don't forget to reset the ECU oil change as well as the service interval counter. Otherwise the ECU may think the oil is used and will inhibit DPF regeneration. This can lead to other issues.

Good catch oil reset is a must on diesel with dpf engines ;)

resurrecting an old post here. concerning self performed service + oil change resets on newer cars with DPF's

any here familiar with multiecuscan?

i have a 2013 fiorino and already have the BT elm OBD which right talks (fine) with my phone. i bought it cheap off ebay though so it may be a knock off, even so, seems to read all ECU data OK.

so why the -additional- yellow cable mentioned in this link? if the elm talks to my laptop via BT then i should be good right?

further, maybe the cable is for complicated adjustments that my fiorino doesnt even have?

thx

whoops sorry, i posted to wrong car forum however, i have the 1.3 multijet sold on many GP's so maybe i can get my response regardless?

Hi,
There are seveal different interfaces on the EOBD/OBDII connector. Many are not standardised even for one manufacturer. On some cars, including your Fiorino, there is more than one CAN bus. The basic ELM interface only has one CAN port. The adaptor (in your case a MultiECUScan A3 or "Yellow") is required to move the ELM interface CAN port to the second CAN bus. You need to access this bus to perform a service reset on a Fiorino.
See the compatiblity listing on the MES website
http://www.multiecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx
Just being able to connect does not mean you are seeing the whole picture.

HTH,
Robert.

You don't need yellow cable to reset oil/dpf service (engine ecu)

But you need this cable to reset service 00000miles on the lcd menu etc. (dashboard ecu)

whoa,

thanks robert!

if i buy the program, i have to be able to unlock the possibilities of all of the channels in the CAN bus.

in the ELM i have now, it doesnt quite "open up" all of the data feeds within the engine which isnt a big deal, yet, could explain its shortcomings.

ill see if i can buy a real cable instead. these are 1-time purchases.

cmosfxx,

thanks, understood.

i will test free version of the s-w and compare to the limitaions of my engine before i buy the "yellow cable"

Hi,
Note that you don't need to replace your existing interface, just buy an adaptor cable. They are about £6-£10 for a single adaptor. It is not recommended to use a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connected adaptor for critical work that could damage the controller if interrupted. This includes changing key codes or updating firmware. but this is not normal usage. MES or AlfaOBD will pay for themselves many times over if you do any maintenance yourself.

Robert.

thanks robert,

1) can you provide a link for either of these cables to ensure i buy the correct one? one that will enable the maximum CAN channels in my car?

2) MES and AlphaOBD are both software programs...have a preference do you?

thx again.

edit: would this cable work for the fiorino?

i have decided i dont want to use the elm327 BT interface, i just want a real cable and be done with it. i will use my laptop computer not my phone. so i need a link for an OBD2 cable that will work with fiats, and, you preferences on the above 2 programs.

Hi,
That lead is NOT suitable as it appears to be K line only. You need a ELM 327 or OBDKEY interface for the Fiorino 1.4 multijet. The Bluetooth will work OK with an adaptor lead like ebay item 271547983086. If you want a wried USB interface, try item 271552892769 from the same seller. Many of the OBDII/EOBD interfaces made in China have a design fault and need a simple modifcation (removal of 120R buss termination resistor). This seller has done the mod.
For general use I'd recommend Multiecuscan. They have an agent in Turkey.

HTH,
Robert.

thanks robert, yes it helped alot. i bought the hard wired USB ELM cable based on your advice!

Hi,
Just to be clear, you still need the yellow "adaptor 3" lead to do a service reset on your Fiorino, even with a wired USB ELM interface.

Robert.

You need the yellow cable only for service reset indicator. (LCD number)

No cable (direct adapter connection to engine ecu)
for Oil Change (DPF) / Particle filter change

Yes,that is correct.I just wanted to reset counter.
The official service accepted to do that this time.Due to their "kind" approach and attitude, this was a last time they saw me.Anyway, I have to find some local garage with proper diagnostic to reset it in the future. So far there was no positive job done in the past due to universal diagnostic programs.I believe someone will get a new one compatible with Fiat.
To remind...the official service refused to do that before,as I have tunned GP and their policy is not to play with such cars ??
