What's your view on them for the grande punto?? My car is forever getting into a mess due to work etc, and I have came across screw in's and clamp on one's, what are the clamps like? Are they secure enough?

I've added ones to the rear (For styling) but also looking to get some for the front as now sick of mud spray up the doors after moving to a more rural area of the country...

Speaking for the rear, I love them. If you're not lowered it hides the skinny wheels and really adds to the 'bum' of the GP. Got mine off eBay but genuine, they slot in (Around wheel arch, can't remember if screwed also) and screw in to the bottom of the bumper.
Also stole the idea of white marker on the Punto lettering. Spot on, but does need reapplying time to time.

I had rectangular clamp on ones when i got my car and they were fine but ugly. Just recently I got some genuine fiat guards with metal clips which look suprisingly good, but the clips are already rusty and will have to be replaced in the nearer term. So I intend to screw into the body work and use some zinc sheet to help protect the newly drilled holes.

My stylish Punto mk1/2 guards offer more or less no protection for stuff going down the side of the car - for that you will need something fairly ugly that sticks out a bit - I just needed something to stop the stones eroding the paint work at the wheel arch and sill connection..

See, I already have a little patch of were paint has came away at bottom corner, so was looking to patch that up myself, then add some mudguards due to the mess. You'd think I Talley it off road with the mess it gets in sometimes, especially this time of the year with so much salt on the road. Think I will purchase myself ones with clamps to begin with, then down the line I can always get them screwed in. Were did you get your fiat guards from?

Yeah I haven't lowered mine, do you know who off on eBay you purchased them from if recent? Or recommend someone to deal with?

Sure, the ones I got were from a Private seller but these seem the same

I think the part number ending 857 have the lugs on the end to slot in the arch. (Like thesehttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-F...137?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item51cc990829) - There's a seller trying to flog the older style that just screw on if you see those.

Cheers ? it always helps now that I know what I'm looking for. Do they screw in easy enough? Just in case I go ahead and make a lot of pointless holes instead of clamps ha

Hmm, the wheel arch ones were fine but same can't be said of the bottom of the bumper. I'd suggest giving them a squirt of WD40 then trying the day after - What I resorted to after getting worried of rounding the bolts off. My bolts were rusted to hell and really bound on there, didn't have a short screwdriver so jacked the car up a bit.
