Have been looking at a 59 plate Grande Punto. I see normal front airbags and airbags in the seats but what about curtain airbags ? I expected to see a logo above the B pillar which is what other manufacturers do but nothing there. Are the curtain airbags somewhere else or maybe not fitted to the Dynamic spec ? Thanks.

As far as I know, only the base Active model had 2 airbags. Everything else had 6. As SJB1985 says, the airbag logo is at the top of the a-pillar trims.

What is a bit strange is the car has steel wheels. It is UK supplied, one owner from new but the other 59 plate Dynamics I've looked at had alloys. It does show up on vehicle checks as a Dynamic and it has Aircon. I looked for the airbag logo by the B pillars not the A pillars but I'm pretty sure I would have seen it if it was there ?

Picture of the car?

Good point, yes it said Dynamic on that grey label inside the door but had steel wheels. I was talking to the original owner so don't think they would have been changed. Sorry, didn't take any pictures.

How comes? And when was the Eleganza discontinued?

I believe stopped using 'Eleganza' across the board in about 2010, which is also about the same time they dropped the GP for the Evo Then in 2012 they returned to simply the 'Punto'

I would imagine it was all to do with bringing everything inline with the new 500 which launched in 2008 and didn't have 'active' or 'Eleganza' as a model indicator

I see! Its a shame really, the Grande Punto Eleganzas are bl00dy lovely cars!

If curtain air bags are roughly the same, they will be from the top of the windscreen going all the way to the back of the roof, they are tucked in behind the roof lining right above the doors, well that's where they were on the Stilo Abarth i stripped.
