Right so i bought two different Aux cables in an attempt to play my own music through the car. Both didn't work. So then i bought a new Head Unit and connection kit, all the cables go together and it all fits and yet no power. Can anybody explain in depth how to fix this, and what id need to fix it. I understand that it needs an ignition feed to it for power to work but i don't quite understand what i can do or whether i should just pop it round to Halfords and see what can be done there. Such a long process just for my own music
Cheers

Need to check that the wiring (presume you have an adapter) is correct. I think some cars need a couple of wires transposed.

BUT if there is no power at all then suggest something else is wrong.

I'm under the impression that the original head unit is controlled and fed by the can bus, so I'd certainly double check that you have the correct adapter cable, otherwise you could cause some damage.

Yeah just spoke to a car audio fitter and he just basically explained that i could run the power from the 12v cig lighter but itd always be on or a better option would be to link the power to the ignition feed so it starts up/turns off with the ignition. For anyone else having this problem basically Fiats aren't designed to have aftermarket head units in them because the power on the stock ones are put through at a frequency. So as soon as you connect an aftermarket one its going to have no power unless you find it from another source in the car (i.e the ignition feed or cig lighter)
