This morning, a mate of mine wrote his car off. While giving him a pity lift this evening, during a 3 point turn I've gone and done this on a low bollard... what a day :bang:

So, now to go about fixing it. I've sourced a breakers and replacing the door will be a piece of cake, but what about the main door sill bit? This seems to go all round the C pillar and all round below the door, replacing it looks impossible. How would I best take this from a donor car? I can't really see any option other than cutting and welding, which is pretty much out of the question.

Failing that, I'm getting a few quotes done for doing it professionally tomorrow when I can take pictures in the light.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaan :( why does the Grande Punto have to be so pretty?

Changing the whole panel !!! That's a bit hard core.

You never heard of filler and paint?

If you are getting the sill and quarter done then the door will likely need to be blended in as well.

I would either 1. Leave it or 2. Get it done properly and professionally option 2 will be a few hundred pond dent in your pocket but it's much better than bodging it yourself

Oh and if a professional body shop were to cut out the whole quarter and replace it expect the bill to run to the thousands, that's why we have filler

Cheers. I've changed panels before with success, but couldn't see where to start with this one. Thankfully I know some very nice people and have my fingers crossed for quotes tomorrow :)
