Hey guys, I went fishing two weekends ago and came home to my car (only moved when my mom pulled it out the driveway)I noticed the handbrake light came on with the turn of the ignition but went off after the initial lightup, so I took the center console by the handbrake lever apart, I then got to the switch , I tested the power from the cable plugged into it( was 6v), checked the switch to see if the circuit will break (used multimeter) and it did , even reset the ecu and body computer to no avail.

Please help I don't know what it could be:bang:

Just checked it, The brake fluid is on the max line

Can I just check, are you saying that the light is extinguished even though the handbrake is on? If you disengage and re-engage the handbrake, does the light come back on and stay on?

The light only comes on if you about to start your car, where the other lights on the cluster come on, after that its off, tried the disengage, re-engage doesn't do anything , lights off completely.

Does sound to me like an issue with the handbrake switch or wiring then. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it as long as the handbrake works but that's just me.

Thing what I don't understand is I've tested the switch and the wiring, just bothers me a bit though.

oooh now I got it. Light goes off even with handbrake engaged... (I thought handbrake was out on startup)

Nope, tried that the day it was working again and it buzzed, tried now and nothing:bang:

So it's not light issue for sure. Still (!) lights up on MAR and then goes away ?

Yea, and the switches circuit is fine too.

Nothing, after the MAR(!) there is no light up of the handbrake light

No, I'm asking if the handbrake (!) lights up even if the handbrake is not applied when you turn the key.

Just went and tried that now, it lights up, but disappears after the cluster check
