Just been fitting a sub but now can't get car running. It auto revs to 2000 rpm and throttle doesn't do anything. I've disconnected the battery neg for now to see if a reset helps, I'm thinking of disconnecting the amps power as my 2nd hand amp doesn't seem to be working anyway. Any one help?

Reconnected the battery and disconnected the amp pos feed from battery, still no joy

What model/engine and why have you listed the title as hill hold asr issues ?

Did you change the head unit at the same time ? Is the head unit wired correctly into its own power supply and not just plugged straight into the ISO connectors ?

It's a 1.9 m jet , all I have done is hook up a power cable from the battery to my amp, a 12v red/white wire from cig lighter as a remote cable for amp and tapped into the rear speaker pos and neg to connect to high to low level converter. I had to jiggle stuff about a it going through the bulk head so will check there, also I've been told there is a gyro by the handbrake so need to make sure I havnt done something there too.

I'm just about to do a battery test and check all relevant fuses. Will post my findings

No fuses blown battery good. Looked under handbrake ,nothing obvious. Did find that pos terminal on battery was not secure even when tight. I cut the strap off a jubilee clip and wedged it around the terminal and tHen tightened down. Did a test on amp too, battery cable must have break in it and no 12v supply either , looks like all cables I was given were trash. Should have done a test install first without routing through the car.

Good luck mate, I had the same problem.
After spending near £400 trying to get to the bottom of it.
(Hillholder, I replaced wheel speed sensor)
(ASR, left side brake was misaligned I was quoted)

Then had a few problems with reverse light not engaging and rear windscreen wiper not working when reversing (dodgy wiring?)

Finally I was advised that I replace the ECU with another, which would mean stripping down and pretty much rewiring the whole car.

I gave up, traded it in and moved on from the GP :(

Tested battery with voltmeter, kicking out 12.6 v, and 14.6v while running.

The problem I have has been since I installed an amp and sub so I would have to guess I've disturbed something. I'm looking at it today and will start with everywhere I've been , battery terminals/loom going through bulk head/handbrake area. Dash says ars disconnected and hill start not available so I will also look at all relevant wiring to these functions. What is the ARS?

Yes amp was faulty, took out all fuses all ok. Just removed all my amp cables so everything back to how it was.

Something I don't understand is the throttle doesn't do anything. The car starts and ticks over but when I press the throttle thats what sets it off saying asr disconnected, other times it gives warning before a press the throttle?

Have you found a solution to your problem yet.
I have the error P0221 aswell referring to throttle sensor position sensor b circuit malfunction/problem but also having same rear left lights failing.

When i purchased the car a sub and amp were badly installed and quickly removed.
