After weeks of LCD display working intermittently, some days okay, others blank, and some with letters making no sense, display finally gone blank. Is this possibly connections at rear of display, or connection to ECU? Where is the ECU located and how do I remove the display dash, to check? Everything else on the dash works fine. Grande Punto

It sounds more like connections, especially if you were getting weird charcters on the display, this is a tell tale sign of a loose connection (if you ever played old sega/nintendo games on cartridges and didnt blow into the cartridge properly first then the same thing would happen, weird text characters)

Sadly I have never removed any part of the dash so i wouldnt know where to start but I would put money on it being a connection issue rather than an issue with the ECU

thanks James, that is what I think too. if a diagnostic tool is used, the correct mileage is on that. it does show a display fault too. I will have try and locate the wires
