Okay. So it's going back tomorrow but i just like to here people's thoughts on the matter!!

Bought an 07 Plate Grande Punto, test drove it, it was nice. Cruise control and everything.

Been driving around and earlier today went to switch on cruise control. No stalk!!

The stalk was there on my test drive.

The indictor stalk had to be replaced before i purchased.

Why would they replace it with the incorrect part!! I have an engine management light on also which i believe will have been caused by this.

Is this even safe to drive?!

Rant over. For now....

Someone decided to keep the cruise control stalk for future upgrade and install one with out it lol :p

Read the error with an obd reader, don't let them just erase it. You have to know what's the problem (maybe it's the CC stalk missing indeed I don't know) and they have to fix the problem (and put back the CC stalk ofcourse)

Take the car back to them.
They have basically sold you a different product from the one you were testing when deciding to buy. There has to be some law against that.
Tell them that this is a deal backer for you as you do a lot of motorway driving. You will however keep the car if they put it back to the level of equipment you tested the car with.

I took it back today! The guy who sold it me didnt know why it was different and said they take the car to repair people who just fix the problem and they pay em. He said he's gonna call me tomorrow and organise getting it replaced! :) at least it's being sorted!

Apart from this im in absolute love with the car!!

I've searched ebay and failing finding the actual part for sale, I have Inboxed tons of breakers to see if the part is available locally.

They haven't washed their hands of the situation fully, I said I will source the part, they foot the cost which they agreed to!

I've never heard of any garage agreeing to repair a car or do work on it but making the customer find the parts, I think you're being had. Persoanally I would have phoned the fiat dealers and got one ordered in, why you're looking for second had part I don't know.
