hi guys... well along story short .. couple of months ago i was having probs getting into first and second gear, sent it to the garage and got it sorted, other morning i was driving along when she just bumped out of fourth, every time i tried it she kept doing the same thing and the roars of it ... so im now driving jumping from third to fifth, which is a nitemare when i forget about fourth not working, have spoken to the garage guy and he is tellin me it could be lots of things and by the sound of it lots of money too... any else have this prob? also is it ok to keep driving when this is happening, i really nervous something worse is going to happen,, my car is a fiat grande diesel 1.3 multijet 2008.. thanks a mil.

If a garage sorted it, what exactly did they do? If it was a gbox replacement or refurb, surely its still got some warrenty.

thanks for the reply.. my partner travelled to the uk to buy the car.. so i just brought it to my local garage and it was something to do with the cables.. honestly i dont have a clue about cars.. my partner is not much better..so when there is a prob we leave it in .. get it back and drive on until we have any other probs.. but i dont think this is the same prob, guy in the garage isnt sure yet either .. he reckons it cud be anything and wont know until gear box is out .. i was really just wondering had anyone else had the same prob and what was the outcome.. ie .. new gearbox or repair
