I have a 06 Plate 1.9 Mjet which has the following mods:

BMC Panel Filter
Straight through exhaust system
Upgraded Intercooler
Quick Release Bumper
De-badge Grill

The next step, to be done this week is to have it remapped. im hoping for 170bhp as a minimum. one think i was very curious about is weither or not the abarth gearbox would be a good replacement for the apparently ****** Mjet box. Its not that i have had any problems but whilst ive got my wallet out i was thinking this may be a good upgrade. Any responses are welcomed.

Er, just a couple of minor points. 1) the abarth has the same m32 gearbox as the m-jet and 2) the ratios will be all wrong for a diesel, it'd give you a top speed of about 90mph!

The abarth gearbox is not any stronger.. it's based on the m32 gearbox.
Also it has the wrong gear ratios for a diesel.

Mind you, put the M Jet box in the T Jet and you'd have a (theoretical) top speed of 230 or so!

Remember, it's torque that destroys boxes, not mere power.

Yeah, ive needed to take the bumper on and off a few times in the process of getting it ready for the remapping, so i bought the quick release kit, just incase i need to take it off in the future, it now has 4 bolts and two quick releases so it takes 30 seconds to take off. so given that the abarth has the same box, and the vxr astra, and the cdti vectra's has anyone found a replacement for this box, or even just the **** bearings?
