Dear readers,

The annoying knocking sounds keep coming. I bought a GP after selling my pretty luxorious Mondeo ST220, so im used to some comfort inside the car. You can imagin that its annoying me.

Now the problem. When the sunroof is opened (not just tilted) it seems that there is a knocking/ticking sound thats coming from somewhere arround the rails when driving on uneven roads, and sometimes even when the wind is vibrating it. I think its on both sides as i heard it when i rocked the sunroof with my hand on both sides. I tried tightening the torx screws on the rails under the sunroof, but that didnt seem to solve the issue.

Any suggestions?

On another note i did have a little knocking noise last night. Also check the bit of plastic that looks like an old fashioned hand fan that stretches out when the sunroof opens (I dont know the technical name for it).

Some times this knocks on my car, just check its properly in place. On mine I just need to tap it and goes away again for a bit (y)

Nah its not coming from there. Its the sunroof itself. Someone from the dutch punto forum has had this issue as well. in his case it was clearance in the rail mechanisme. Expensive thing to repair as the whool sunroof assembly has to comeout and refitted. Since winter is coming ill save this job for next year.
