Just a quick question;

Car: GP 2006 1.9 Sporting (130)

I've recently change the EGR with a brand new one, but this I have recently developed an issue that does not bring up a error.

When lightly driving I can hear the turbo starting to spool up, then it quickly realeses, spooling up quickly releases etc etc. seam more prominent in 1st and 2nd gear. However when I'm a little more heavier on the foot it doesn't do it.

Im not sure why it would be doing this, reading a few threads I though it couls be the following; but Im unsure if my car has both etc.

1. Boost pressure valve
2. MAP sensor

I know the car must has at least one, but I'm not sure and if so where are they located.

Would either of these create the turbo to do this?

I forget to mention, that if I dont drive it lightly on the accelerator it doesnt seam to happen.

Thanks

Can no-one help me with this....Im really starting to feel the lack of technical knowledge on this site.

Boost pressure sensor is on the back of the intake manifold, take your engine cover off and you will see it just to the left of the egr. Held on by a single bolt.

Might be worth taking out (easy job) and seeing how clean it is, mine was pretty sooted up with gunk!

thanks

Do you know if the GP 1.9 MJet have a MAP sensore as well? If so where is that located?

And the Boost Pressure Sensor, what do you clean it out with?

Thanks

The MAP(Manifold Air Pressure) and the boost pressure sensor are the same thing... Think about it, The turbo pumps air into the inlet manifold.

Clean it with EGR cleaner as its the same filth that blocks it up. I call it derv cake :D.

Remember It's an open forum ran by people donating their own time and knowledge expecting a response so quickly, then getting an attitude over it isn't going to get you very far!
