Hi everyone iv got 1.9 multijet im not so clued up on the turbo on these so need some advice. My turbo had gone so going to replace it but its crossed my mind a couple of times about fitting a larger turbo?? Has anyone else done this and if so what is the correct turbo to get?

There isn't a straight swap for the mjet, you can either get the standard turbo converted to a hybrid for around 90 - 1000, or you could get a custom manifold, an off the shelf larger turbo, then a custom downpipe to match, would cost around 2000 - 2500.

With a different turbo you would need a remap to go with it.

Best way to go it a hybrid if you have the money but I'd do everything else first, decat - egr delete - forge intercooler - cone filter ect...

Kyle's pretty much nailed it.

The factory turbo's are integrated into manifold. Turbo's are known to go and manifolds known to crack. I think mine may be cracked leading to sluggish spooling, loud siren type noise and diesel smog fumes in cabin sat in traffic :yuck:

I can hear a slight whistle from mine too, not a good sign :(

Damn you posting those links Kyle.... I am now thinking how I am make my Abarth faster with a nice 260 kit.......

Horrible isn't it!
Gives you something to look foward too though!

n most circumstances if you need to modify the downpipe or the manifold to fit an off the shelf turbo it's probs best to get a hybrid usually always cheaper :)
These kits are a bit too expensive for what they are tbh
