My brake pad light has come on on 2 short journeys (1 mile) but not on longer ones (20 miles). Should this come on every journey?

Also, my door open light is flashing unevenly instead of staying on. Have checked all doors and boot, no internal light is coming on. What's going on?

Is this just an electrical issue? Both have happened in the last few days.
