Hey everyone!

Just a quick question really... does anyone know how to remove/open the centre console fans on the Grande Punto (1.4L 16V Sporting)? One of the fans/blowers (centre, passenger side) the little sliding control in the middle of the vent has become disconnected from all the little plastic "fins" inside the vent so there is no control over the air direction/switching that fan "off"...

I can send pictures/a video if anyone needs to see what I mean?

I just need to connect it back up so that I can control the air direction again, I just need to know how you take the front part of the vent off? :)

Thanks!!

Louis

You will need to remove radio first mate then you will be able to remove the centre fans and be able to get to the plastic direction switch from behind well this how I have fixed mine in the past others may have a different way, just be careful once you have removed the radio and started working behind there as there are some very sharp bits of metal.

Regards
Stephen

Yeh mate remove the T20 screw that are holding the fans in place then pull the unit out and then unclip the electric connection from behind using the red tab, being careful not to break it!

Awesome! Okay I'll give that a try, I assume it's all four of the T screws two on the bottom of the fans and two on either side at 45° angles?

Before I do, do you think there is any mileage in trying to take the front off the single fan because I just found these two little tabs under the fan itself?? ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1409401542.420039.jpg

I am not sure mate, I wouldn't just in case they snap!

I would remove all screws you can see i.e. headunit cage screws and blower unit screw. Once the blower unit is out you can then get to things a lot easier :D

Awesome so I have it to this stage and all the screws are out now... But the blower unit is stuck?! The bottom sides seem free but the top seems stuck? Is there a catch some where?? ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1409405208.431927.jpg

Woooooh! Job done! Blower = fixed! Now just to screw it all back together thanks so much for your help! Really appreciate it!!
