Hello guys.

Posted a couple of pictures of my car on here previously.

Just had a query about the Windows USB connection in my car. I have an iPod as well as an iPhone and once plugged into my car it will not work at all. I have tried both ports on both my iPod and iPhone. However, I've seen people post that they have got it working on an iPod. Can any help me and tell me what/if I'm doing wrong and if I need to do to get it to work

Many thanks in advance guys!

iPhones and iPods aren't actually compatible with blue and me until 10' plates and onwards. The file type that apple uses isn't recognised, hence the windows sticker. Currently it can only recognise .mp3, .wav and .wma. The only way to get it to recognise is to purchase the blue and me adapter from the fiat accessories website (http://www.fiat-accessories.com/blue-and-me-adaptor-for-iphone-and-ipod). It is rather pricey at £62.95 but it's worth checking on eBay as I picked mine up for £49. It's definitely worth the money, I use mine everyday. It basically turns your car into a docking station and works perfectly with the steering wheel controls. I use it primarily with Spotify which works like a dream.

The only thing is, the standard apple sync cables aren't long enough to reach very far. Unless you don't mind your phone moving about under the handbrake, I'd suggest you purchase a 2m sync cable from curries. The brand I got is iwantit and is really good as the cable is nearly 3 times as thick as the standard apple cable, so is really heavy duty. Let us know how you get on ?

Thanks for the advice mate.

Just the one thing, my phone will not connect to my blue and me at all, ice tried many times but it just doesn't seem to connect. Will this adapter still work even though I can't get my phone to connect wireless?

I know it seems obvious, but do you have bluetooth enabled on your phone? If you do, get the blue and me manual out and follow the setup instructons in there, as you have to go through the menu to set it up.

I bought my car second hand mate and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have any instruction manual for the car.

I don't think my Blue&me on my car works because I went through this instruction step by step and I couldn't even get a reaction from it at all when saying 'settings'

Thank you for your help though mate!

I don't know much about the mechanics of blue&me but perhaps the microphone has gone. I'd take it to a fiat garage and see what they say, I think you can still get to the settings menu without having to speak, but I've never checked.
