Going to take the plunge and buy the licensed version of Multiscan in the hope it can point me in the right direction to fix my daughters GP.

I've a set of OBD2 cables that connect my laptop to my MK2b I would assume these will work on the GP but the Multiscan website mentions needing an interface ?

Whats an interface ?

GP is a 2007 1.2 8v

Changed the cam belt on the car a few weeks ago seemed to run fine, although I thought it was a little sluggish, week later EML came on
Paid a local garage £45 to tell me it was an unknown code !

At the same time as changing cambelt I cleaned the thottle body as it had grey gunge around it. Suspect the throttle position might need reset, not yet tried the rev it to 5000rpm reset.

I've also read somewhere about a cam wheel re-learn.
Think that was something to do with turning engine on and off for a minute at a time.

Honestly just thinking of putting it into the FIAT dealer as, as far as I can gather they are the only ones with the diagnostic kit to reset the ECU

Don't need Multiecuscan for Phoenic wheel learn. Have a read here: https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto/351703-juddering.html?p=3494947

Yip already tried that found it impossible to hold the car at 5000rpm and don't feel comfortable revving an engine to 5000rpm without any load on it.

When warm the car wont start unless throttle pedal is pressed, it also occasionally cuts out when coming to a halt, but will restart right away.

I tried the same thing in the driveway but revs would shoot up past 5000 back off throttle to bring revs down and it would drop right back to 3000. Couldnt get the car to hold a steady throttle position
