From looking on this forum I found a thread that said it was possible to put 18 inch alloys on a fiat grande 1.4 8v model, when the max listed is 17inch. Anyway after some hunting on ebay I found some Japanese show alloys, altstadt 18inch chrome alloys.
I went to stoke to purchase them and then back to a kwik fit in birmingham to get them fitted, they said id need spigot rings and spacers from them to fit as it was a struggle to get them on without and the alloys were grinding against the brake callipers.
so after purchasing these supplies, I went back and finally got them fitted, the spigot rings fitted into the alloys 63.4 and 56.6 for the centre bore but there was still a gap (shoulda found thicker spigots) with one person holding the wheel and the other inserting the bolts it wasnt that hard, but with 9.5mm spacers the calipers didnt rub and the alloys were fine. I also added the spacers to the back so they all aligned. extended 10mm bolts were used.
I had new tyres and all my tracking done aswell at an extra cost, however the drive has totally changed on the car, I did a motorway trip to london and the car kept pulling to one side driving at a high speed, I had to change lanes and slow down because of how scary it was. Sometimes when driving I feel an occasional pull and a loss of steering aswell. I don't know whether this is due to the alloys or if problems with my steering column have occured. Has anyone experienced this problem before? the car had 15inch steelies, then 15inch fox alloys on before and I had no proble,s.
