Hello all, new to the forum and after a bit of help please :)

I need to replace the alternator on my 1.2 2006 grande punto, it has air con.

Could anyone tell me if there is a guide out there? Or could anyone tell me the best way to approach it?

Thank you

Had mine done a garage, got told by the mechanic is was a b***h of a job to do, cause it sits below the air con pump, bolts are really hard to get to!
Good luck

Richard.

I'm pretty sure it's the alternator, the AA man said it was and it's making a noise also.

I've fitted coilovers, removed air con systems, replaced clutches, etc on other cars before but just wanted to see if there was a guide as it always helps.

Guessing I'll loosen the air con compressor to get a bit more access..

The downloads keep failing on me, don't suppose anyone has the elearn stuff already and could screen shot the bits for me?

Thanks a lot :)

Good news, alternator changed and all problems have gone away :)

Pretty easy to do tbh, took 2 hours ish as I took my time.

Hardest part was getting the new aux belt back on!

Removed the air con compressor to get access to the top bolt, cant see how it could have been done in situ tbh. Air con needed regassing anyway so wasn't a big deal

Bottom 2 alternator bolts were easy from underneath the car :)

Cheers
