Hey, going to attempt my first Oil & Filter change on my 2009 AGP on Friday to save some money.
Not terribly daunted by the task but have one concern.
Went to europarts today and picked up the oil, filter and sump plug (just incase)
The filter is an equivalent using the OEM part no. as a reference:

So i havn't seen or located the filter on the car yet but this supplied filter is just a paper one i.e not in a can - is this right?
Any help but be great, dont want to start and discover ive got the wrong filter!

Ive never seen a car with a paper oil filter always cans and if there same as the gp then look just a little higher than the sump plug its right on the side! Easy to get to!

With that it looks like tjere is a can you take off and place that inside of it mate

You have the correct oil filter. I have a similar paper filter in my mjet. If I remember correctly the abarth's oil filter housing is located underneath a heatshield on the front left side of the engine. The easiest way to get to this is by removing the drivers side wheel and the inner arch. From here there should be plenty of room and visibility. Its the black plastic cap fitted on the housing/oil cooler assembly just to the right hand side of the crankshaft pulley. You'd never see it from above the engine as its tucked inside a heatshield just below and to the left of the turbo. Hope you get it sorted! :D

So did the oil change on my car on Friday.
I was the only one at work so did a crafty one and did it on work time:devil:
Only issue I had was the location of the filter on my engine. Pig to get to without taking bits off, but managed it!
Saved myself some money though - £27 all in (oil/filter/sump plug)

What do you think of my jack??? :D

I wouldn't dream of using our fork on my GP lol! I take it you found it easy enough? Like those wheels... car looks really smart. I think I might have to paint my callipers red next time my brakes are serviced. Keep meaning to start my own little thread but I always forget to take pictures.
