Hey guys, I've just purchased an 08 plate grade punto sporting m-jet and have noticed that at high speeds the steering column rattles, vibrates. The front tyres are brand new and the rears have about 3/4 tread left. Do any of you know what could be wrong? Also the parcel shelf clips have both been snapped off and I was wondering how much it would cost to replace them? Thanks

I'd go back to whoever changed the tyres and ask for the wheels to be balanced. If that doesn't cure it I would check for worn suspension/steering components and replace accordingly. If anything is replaced it would be wise to get the tracking done. Might be worth asking your local fiat dealer if there is a way to check whether or not the recalls have been rectified... check out the sticky thread titled 'Recalls & Known Fault/issues.' As for the parcel shelf clips, try a local scrap yard or partsworld-uk.

The tracking was done a few days ago, I think it is the wheel balance as they've recently gone from completely worn tread to new tyres and it was all kind of rushed. I'll pop by my local kwik-fit tomorrow and let them have a look. The place is a 2hr drive away and the warranty I've got only covers the engine and gearbox... Thanks anyway
