Hi,

On the right hand side of the engine the coolant sensor is housed in a body, as part of this body there is what I would call a plastic bolt with a tube stuck to the end for the coolant to flow through.

I'm trying to locate this part, it had cracked resulting in a leak and upon further inspection it broke off. I've managed to remove all of the plastic from the body but now need a new one!

Any help would be greatly appreciated in locating a part number!

You mean this part? (attached)

If you were able to remove the broken part from the threads of the thermostats' housing then you can replace just the fitting.

As above if you can get the threaded bit out and the barb from the hose a industrial hose supplier such as pirtex or a agricultural service place should be able to match the pattern probably in metal bit of PTFE tape and a jublie clip and you should be sorted :)

Just to resurrect this thread. That's EXACTLY what happened to my daughter's car today! I topped up the coolant the other day thinking "Hmmm, I don't remember it being low..." and checked it again yesterday, 80 miles later and it was back down a bit. Then I noticed a bit of wetness round the bellhousing I gave the pipes in the area a wiggle and that plastic spout just snapped off in my hand!

A word of advice to anyone trying to be a smart ^*%* like me though, DON'T try to use the fitting from the top of the cam cover that's metal and virtually identical to the plastic one. I got it in a few turns and then it burst the thermostat housing casting because it's a tapered thread!

Ooo errr missus!

Still, we all LURVE our Puntos on here eh?!

All sorted now. Fortunately Eurocarparts were open today and had a decent complete Wahler stat (wit ha metal rather than a plastic spout) so apart from being £32 poorer (and a little wiser) all now seems to be good again.
