So, I've been knocking around on the forum for a while, first with my orange 1.2 Mk2 called Gino which is now my sister's and at the end of last year I bought myself a 2006 1.9 GPS in orange!

I'm from Chesterfield in Derbyshire but at University in Cardiff if anyone lives near either of those places?

Loving the car at the moment, it's had a couple of the usual problems (rusted servo plate and a couple of other bits and bobs but thanks to you guys on the forum I got to them early so not too much of a problem)!

As it stands the car has a few subtle mods:

Lowered 45mm on Apex springs
Abarth headlights
Powerflow rear silencer
De-badged grille and de-punto'd rear
De-wipered rear
Vinyled between grilles
Black fork sporting wheels
Tinted side indicators
Tinted rear 3 windows
Team Heko wind deflectors
Short ariel

I just picked up some Forge subframe braces from chimera gunner on here so will be fitting them as soon as the weather sorts itself out!

I now have 3 things which I'd like to do but undecided yet:

1. Coilovers: would have to be budget ones so either FK AK street or JOM

2. Remap: would love a remap but this car needs to last me another 3 years at least so not sure about the longevity of the gearbox and turbo if I go for the remp

3. Exhaust: I know it's a diesel but I'd love a sporty sound, I was thinking straight through but I just worry about the legal implications of decat and DPF delete and don't want it to be a drone, just loud when I boot it, not with normal driving.

So if anyone has any suggestions or comments they'd be appreciated!

Previous owner removed it but I prefer it without I think

I know these have been done a lot mate but Abarth rear lights

I was toying with the idea but not sure if it would make a big enough difference for the 100 quid. It takes me a while to save that much for the car as get the minimum student loan which doesn't even cover rent so pretty skint

Maybe tinting them a bit? That's cheap

It's probably not got a DPF at all. Can you see a cloud of smoke in the headlights of the car behind when you boot it at night? If you can it hasn't got one...

Nah, it doesn't smoke mate, so I think it does have a dpf.

I doubt yours will have a dpf, mine is an 07 plate (doesnt smoke) mine hasnt got a dpf just a cat

Ah ok I just assumed if it didn't smoke it must have dpf how would I check? Obviously look at the exhaust but do you know what I'm looking for?

If yours has two boxes in the centre of the system then you have just a cat. A dpf system has one box in the centre

Just popped out and it goes flexi pipe from back of engine, short fat barrel shaped box then to back box. I'm assuming that means I have a dpf? :/

If I de-cat the car will that mess the dpf up? Don't want a bill for a new dpf!

I don't think I have a DPF, I think the previous owner has had the centre silencer removed as the pipe coming from the box I described earlier (which I think is the 2nd cat) to the aftermarket back box is a lot newer looking/less rusty.

The short fat cylinder is what is on my car at present, the photo of the longer cylinder is the centre silencer which I don't have but this guy's non-DPF car has the short fat one (cat) leading to the longer silencer then back box.

In summary, I don't think I have a DPF and I wish people would tell you what mods they've done on a car when you buy it!
