Yeah, I'm often down there on a rainy Sunday morning to play football, that pic makes the place look a lot nicer

I think I got lucky, wasn't raining and there might even have been some sun that day!

I'm at university in Cardiff so live here at the moment, always on the lookout for new photo spots but don't seem to be many, any ideas? :)

Couple of small updates:

Replaced the 2 turbo to intercooler hoses and repainted the metal pipe between the two as it was rusted to buggery!
Drives better now: much smoother and quicker, must have been leaking like a seive!

Also fitted some Forge subframe braces :D

And then spent 3 hours washing, polishing and waxing.

The next mod will be a straight through exhaust, turbo back with both cats removed, had a quote just need to save up a little more :slayer:

Looks nice! You'll be glad you had the exhaust done. I have a cat-back system on mine, nice and subtle. Gives a really nice sound from the turbo too! :p Would love to have it remapped or have a tuning box installed eventually. As for reliability... should be ok so long as everything is well maintained (y)

So, I've been knocking around on the forum for a while, first with my orange 1.2 Mk2 called Gino which is now my sister's and at the end of last year I bought myself a 2006 1.9 GPS in orange!

I'm from Chesterfield in Derbyshire but at University in Cardiff if anyone lives near either of those places?

Loving the car at the moment, it's had a couple of the usual problems (rusted servo plate and a couple of other bits and bobs but thanks to you guys on the forum I got to them early so not too much of a problem)!

As it stands the car has a few subtle mods:

Lowered 45mm on Apex springs
Abarth headlights
Powerflow rear silencer
De-badged grille and de-punto'd rear
De-wipered rear
Vinyled between grilles
Black fork sporting wheels
Tinted side indicators
Tinted rear 3 windows
Team Heko wind deflectors
Short ariel

So here's my old mk2, Gino

And here's my GPS, Sydney, as I bought him:

And a few shots I took yesterday while out for a drive:

I just picked up some Forge subframe braces from chimera gunner on here so will be fitting them as soon as the weather sorts itself out!

I now have 3 things which I'd like to do but undecided yet:

1. Coilovers: would have to be budget ones so either FK AK street or JOM

2. Remap: would love a remap but this car needs to last me another 3 years at least so not sure about the longevity of the gearbox and turbo if I go for the remp

3. Exhaust: I know it's a diesel but I'd love a sporty sound, I was thinking straight through but I just worry about the legal implications of decat and DPF delete and don't want it to be a drone, just loud when I boot it, not with normal driving.

So if anyone has any suggestions or comments they'd be appreciated!

Cheers guys,
Jacob

Was you in leeds today by any chance?

A few updates :D

1. Full straight through 2 1/2 inch exhaust from the turbo back using a pre-cat decat pipe from ebay and all the work done by Charlie of Prospeed exhausts in Cardiff.

He's done a fantastic job at a good price so would come recommended, more importantly the car sounds fantastic. Not really any louder at regular speeds but wakes up at 2500-3500 RPM, really growls!

2. Abarth rear lights - not sure whether to de-tango them yet or not so opinions on that please?

3. Fitted the Powerflex gearbox mount insert and changed the gearbox oil while I was at it with 2l of fresh Tutela Matryx.

I've written up a quick guide for changing the mount but it's pretty self explanatory: https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-pu...e-gearbox-mount-fitting-powerflex-insert.html

Next up: save for re-map :D

I'll have to get someone to record it as I drive past, not much value in recording from inside the car as it rarely sounds like the real thing.

But it does sound great, much more turbo sound, nice loud whoosh when coming off boost and growls like a dog from hell at higher rpms, I'll get a vid asap.

Oops, didn't mean to write 2 1/4, I'll edit that!
