As the title says after about 3000rpm, I can hear this whine, if I clutch in the whine dissappears. I dont think its gearbox related, could it be alternator bearing?

Cause when I clutch in the whine dissappears, if its gbox related wouldnt it be constant?
Surely that would point at it being a gbox issue. If putting your foot on the clutch makes the whine stop?

Surely if it was gbox the whine would be dependant on speed not revs?
I'd agree with that but pressing the clutch in would isolate the gearbox so if the noise stops then that points at gbox I'd have thought?

Haha it involves engines iv spent so much getting it driving why not spend more getting it how I want it haha.... for now I need this whine to go :s im seriously thinking clutch, it needs changing anyways, iv known this for about 4months, well since the crash... on a sorta related note, when iv been driving for a while like over an hour, my clutch bite is really high, but when the cars cold its normal, cable stretch?
