Had a sh*t day. Found a nice long black scratch on my font bumper. Then driving home from work there was a small crunch while going into 3rd gear, clutch fully down.
The crunch or grind can be found just as its about to go into 3rd, and moving the gear stick carefully i can keep it on that grinding point.
This was whilst i was driving home so just had a search on here and couldnt find anything so.. yeah. more problems.

Any ideas? Iv read syncro, gear oils.
Price of fix's?
or should I sell quickly before it gets any worse?!

Has it happened just the once? It could be that you've moved the gear lever a bit too quickly and not given the clutch plates enough time to separate. What causes grind/crunch is the cogs on the gears not meeting properly.
If it keeps happening you could adjust the the gear selector cable on top of the gear box, but that is very minimal.
Likely solution is a new master/slave cylinder.

Same happened to me, I got a new refurbished gearbox off ebay, could try replacing gearbox oil as a last resort, but otherwise id recommend just getting a new gearbox instead of paying a specialist the same amount to just replace 3rd's syncno

No just a standard 1.2. Clutch is incredibly low as with the top half of the clutch not doing anything at all! My garage recommended to bleed the clutch and put new dot4 fluid in first. Is there any guides for this ? As its a bit confusing with the break/clutch being the same. Ill have to bleed the breaks as well? Yes/no?

Brake fluid and clutch fluid is the same. The clutch take fluid "higher" in the fluid reservoir, so in case of clutch leaks, a sufficient amount of fluid is kept for brakes.

If you bleed the clutch you have not to bleed brakes; do both only if you want to replace all the fluid.

Best thing is a bleeder (easybleeder), otherwise you have to be two do do this (search internet)

If it is only 3rd gear crunching ,then it won't be a clutch issue .It will be more than likely 3rd gear synchro that has failed..A general test is ,you will find it will change up gear ok( though depending on how badly worn it is it and how it is driven it may not)..but you will find the crunch /grinding is when changing down ,as that is when the synchro is slowing the bulk ring on the gear down and is working at it's hardest..

Synchros a bulk ring and a sleeve aren,t that expensive, and for those on here who are good with a set of spanners, and will strip an engine , do all the electrics ,suspension etc replacing the synchros is not that difficult a job..I work with a truck dealership doing both engines and gearboxes ,and I prefer gearboxes ..easy to test before putting it back in,where as with an engine you have the stress of will it start ,will it rattle ,will it work through the power range ..And even lads in dealerships are scared of gearboxes
