Hi, ive just had my car remapped, it was a custom remap with a rolling road before and after printout. But im left quite confused with the results. After the map was finished I took it out for a run, and found that when accelerating slowly and after a few seconds the car would start kangaroo'ing, and the turbo would keep spooling up and cutting off repeatedly. Yet under more throttle it was absolutely fine and it drove extremely well and there was a huge increase in performance. So I took it back and told them, so he took it out, identified the symptoms and tried altering the parameters, and tried it on the standard map. After taking it out again we found it was doing it as standard, just only barely noticeable, so he seemed fairly confident it was the egr valve that was clogged up. so they put the new map back on and said they'll extend the money back guarantee and refund everything if cleaning the egr valve didn't sort it which was fair enough. The results I got are 159.1bhp up from 134.8. and 227 ft lb torque up from 204 ft lb. which from seeing other results from others on here seems to be quite low, especially the torque. the standard figures sound like theyre accurate but the new ones sound too low. The bhp increase is only slightly lower than they estimated, but the torque is way out from the 277 they estimated. Could this be the clogged egr valve causing it or just the remap. as the standard results sound fine.

And just to throw another spanner in the works, I came across a Subaru impreza wrx (the one after the bugeye but before the hawkeye) and thought id see whereabouts I stand, and to my surprise he couldn't pull away at all, and he was definitely trying to as I couldn't hear my engine for the sound of his exhaust. So I really don't know whats going on with my figures. help!

Cheers.

Theres a few more graphs for air temps and air pressure aswell if theyd be any use.

Cheers.

Cheers for that. Think i'll be trying somewhere else. Been recommended someone that does custom maps, and hes supposed to be good. He works for the quantum map franchise and gave me an estimate of 160bhp and 251 ft lbs torque, but can try to push it more if i want. But he doesnt have a rolling road facility. Any thoughts on that? Cheers again

Im in morecambe north west england and i dont think there are many around where i am. All the places people reccomend seem to be down south. Out of all the places around me this one seemed to be the best around, and certainly had the best facilities. Ive got to admit their dyno setup was very impressive, 4wd capability and can measure up to 2000bhp, all set up in its own unit with full extraction. So i thought it'd be my best bet, but the results dont seem to show that. They also filmed the run which i'll post up when i get home, but i noticed when watching it, the run was done in 4th gear in 'shoot 4f mode'. No idea what that means but is it normal to run a car on a dyno in 4th? Cheers

3rd or 4th at least yeah

i know a man in watford that wont charge anywhere near 400 and is one of the best mappers in the country http://www.tune4performance.com/

tell him your heard about him on FF

Well thats far too far from leeds ha and id prefer to go to a specialist not someone that does every car there is, dont get me wrong theres nothing wrong with that, ive now managed to get mine for 300 best place in leeds was over 500 i wont pay tht rather use £50 in petrol lol

Well thats what i thought... must be doing something right to be using that kind of equipment. And while i was there they were building an engine for a rather nice escort cosworth. While i was in the waiting room reading all the fast ford magazines their advert was a full page in every mag. Seem pretty reputable. He did mention the egr probably clogged and being the cause of the kangarooing. Might give them a ring after ive cleaned the valve, the torque figure they estimated was quite a way off so i might ask if they can tweak it again and put it back on the RR.

Im gonna be cleaning it tomorrow so hopefully that should have some affect. Will let you know, thanks for your input so far, been a big help cheers
