Just wondering if it's worth getting forge underbody braces?

Good handling improvement?

Only found one thread on here which praises them.

Sam

Lol, was it mine mate :)

I can honestly say that I can feel the difference with the underbody braces. Makes the car handle better and alot less body roll. We all know about the GP's body roll!

Do you have any rattling or anything mate?

Just read another and someone says it's most likely placebo making people think they improve things...

No rattling what so ever :)
Although I could not fit the second smaller brace as my custom exhaust protrudes the space where the brace would go

But all in all, feels cool when driving hard to know that something has been done about replacing the standard one! :D

When you get the standard one off, you can bend it with your own hands hahaha :slayer:

:d

but is it money well spent haha :D my exhaust might get in the way too tbh

Well given my argument with dave some weeks ago regarding placebos (this was in respect to Induction Kits) I really cant see how these can be a placebo as you are strengthening the car. Well this is my opinion anyways. I bought them I like them I found that they work. lol :D

That's because the standard one isn't meant to be a structural item. Yes some may argue it adds some rigidity but simply looking at its construction its evident its there more as a guard/shield to exhaust or sump or something to that effect. hence why its easily bend-able.

The brace you have fitted will only work in conjunction with the turret mounted strut bar. Both together will minimise the amount of flex the chassis exhibits when the car is cornering, which in turn means the wheels/tyres contact patch will be maintained when the suspension is under load. The effect is maintaining suspension geometry without the displacement which applies when chassis flex is introduced.

It might feel like its improving body roll, but that is minimal compared with anti roll bars.

If you want to reduce body roll further then only stiffer anti roll bars, or coilovers will do the job.

If you want to learn more, google it :p
