Bought this 1.2 dynamic a few months ago because I was in desperate need of a car not knowing what I was getting myself into, after stumbling across a few pictures of modified GP's I've fallen in love with it. knowing that's is only a 1.2 dynamic I know I'm not going to be driving it fast but I've decided to make it into a nice looking car.

First thing was to give it a clean and a polish and a boy racer nurburgring sticker

The first actual modification I did was to add small DRL's on the it's of trim where the fog lights should be. I don't particularly like them in the day but I have to admit that once it is night time they do look good and I recommend them to any GP owner without fog lights and a small budget like me.

Switching the sidelights to some "crystal blue" bulbs (that look green) was the next stage as well as some xenon looking main beam bulbs are a nice touch

Once I had done that I then moved onto debadging the front grille which revealed the plastic backing where the badge goes. I have primed it and sprayed it black for the meantime until I can find a nice debadged black grille, if anyone could help I would be grateful!

I have also just had my rear windows tinted with 20% tint which I love on a black car!
The next jobs are to get some black and red 10 spoke alloys and to spray the callipers red and then get the wing mirror caps sprayed red as well. I think the black and red look is very appealing, even on a basic GP like mine.

baring in mind I am only 18 and on an apprenticeship wage, does anyone know any good parts websites?

Hello mate, welcome to the FF and welcome to the GP family, nice looking example you have mate :).

I believe the first mod on any GP should be to lower it, I know it will hit your insurance and I know its not a cheap mod but the wheel arch gap on a standard GP is massive, you could move into it LOL. Eibach Sportlines are the springs of choice mate.

Kind regards and thanks for the pics as we love pics in the GP section (y)
Stephen

Hi stephen, I was thinking of lowering it because the wheel arch gap is laughable haha, I am going to wait until I have got the new alloys as I am going up in size and may close the gap a little bit, thank you for the reply, I wasnt expecting one at all.
Thanks
Ash

nurburg ring :bang:

First 2 results here
I have to admit though I prefer steel mesh grilles, I want a pair myself!

When you say 'get' the wing mirror caps I hope you don't mean someone else do them, since they pull straight off, sand prime spray done ;)

what size alloys are you getting? I'd stick to 15's if you have a 1.2 personally. Up to you of course, my 15's wont look so bad when I get the car lowered :D

GP's look fantatic with mods, have fun playing around with it :)

Yes Ivan going to be spraying the wing mirror covers myself, I'm not that lazy considering it's only 4 clips that keep them on lol

It's been a while since I've updated this post so I may as well do it as I've just got my FK Automotive badgeless grill today, will get a better picture when it's light outside but you all know what it looks like  also Santa was very kind to me and got me a new radio with a 7" LCD screen, sat nav and a DVD player! WIN! I have also got myself a red boot badge to replace the old blue one and taken off my stupid LED DRL's where the fog lights should be. I recently wrapped my key in a carbon fibre style sticker which I think was well worth the £7.99 off eBay!

Future plans are to
Fit the new fork style 17" Alloys I've bought
Possibly lower it

Nail on the head (y)

Looks clean, I wish I had got my hands on a black one.
My FK grille also arrived today in black/chrome, I'm unsure on exchanging it and getting £15 back or just spraying it black and not wait until 17th of Feb.

Not too sure on the key cover/sticker. you going to match the badge on the key to the one on your car? You can pick them up for £2.99 on eBay.

Yeah mine is black/chrome as well I was unsure on it but it looks smart on the car, I wanted to sand it down and spray it black like my previous grill but it's grown on me, and yes I wanted to get the dash wrapped in carbon fibre because I don't like the brown finish on mine. I like black cars but I could a lot more if it wasn't black because then I could of had my roof, wing mirror caps and front vinyl wrapped. What colour is yours

I've emailed but not sure they'll reply as customer service is supposed to be ****.

http://ebay.eu/1hO7ygS - for your key cover
Mine is Blue, it's somewhere in the Members Motors under alx.

Yeah I see what you mean, I just like the whole stealth look you can get with black cars. You could still wrap it, carbon...

Yeah I'm toying with the idea of wrapping it but it doesn't stand out as well, I'm thinking of getting chrome mirror caps instead or spraying mine with chrome to save money

Thanks for the link much appreciated! And FK's customer service is good when I had questions the emailed me straight back..but it was in German lol :banghead:

It's who you email. I emailed :- [email protected]
He deals with UK customers I believe.

I looked around again last night and found that venom motorsport sell the all black one for £27.
Turns out venom motorsport is down the road from me :banghead: could have saved a few £££ on coils and grille.

I may have to have a look on venom motorsport, sounds quite cheap. I'm looking for some new headlights I know the standard is to get the abarth ones but I want to be a bit different, I've seen some dectane DRL headlights but I was wondering how difficult the job would be tp replace them and whether there is any 're-wiring to do

No new mods yet but considering it wasn't raining today I thought I'd give my GP a clean inside and out. Have to love a clean car!
Here are a couple of pictures!

So I've managed to drive to my mates house from Stafford to Hampshire in my GP which I'm very shocked with how well it copes on the motorway. I went to the Ferrari dealership to form at the cars and guess what I see parked up within the complex next to ferrari f12's and 458's?

Where the DRL's easy to fit? How do you fit them? :p
