I bought two part worn tyres and had the tracking done at the same time ive also had a nearside ball joint changed.
When driving the car steers to the near side and if I hold to steering wheel straight the car pulls to the right even though the steering wheel is straight.

A mate suggested wheel balancing but my understanding that balancing stops wobble ir vibrations. Tracking should sort out the car pulling

Any suggestions on what to try or check

Car is a gp 1.3 mj diesel

Thanks

You are correct regards the balancing. This will stop wheel wobble.

I assume you changed the tyres because the tracking was out and had worn the inner or outer edges ? Otherwise why would you have the tracking adjusted.

Regrading pulling, is it pulling left or right. You say near side and then say right ?

When you had the tacking done, they may have cheated and only adjusted one side, or not done both sides evenly.
Whilst this wouldn't cause a major problem with the tracking as such, it could result in the steering wheel being slightly off centre.

If I dont touch the steering wheel it will pull left and the steering wheel will not sit straight it angles off to the left. If I make the steering wheel straight the car the pulls to the right

Did it do this before the part worn tyres ?
My friend had something similar regarding the pulling, we swapped the tyres around and it pulled the other way.

Lets say for instance, that the tracking was 3mm out.
They'd have to adjust 1.5mm on each side of the car.
If they adjusted 3mm on one side only, this will cause the steering wheel to be off centre.

The wheel in the straight position, is not really pointing the car straight, but 3mm to the right.

When you say pulls right. I assume that it steers right and if you let go, it would start pulling left again?

With the wheel in the straight position and the car veering off to the right, then I'd suggest that the tracking has not been adjusted evenly.

I'd maybe take it back and say politley "something isn't right"
