Got my LED Sidelights in. Works well I think - asked mum to do me a favour and drive down the road in front of me to ensure they aren't blinding people and she said its fine. Anyone else who has the same model with reflector headlights - don't just put HID's in, you can achieve a similar effect with Orsram Nightbreaker H4s and some Led sidelights with error free bulbs. Here's a few pictures, obviously with lights it difficult to get a decent picture. But here we go

Liking it needs white wheels to carry on the theme.
Which led bulb has you got to keep it all error free?
I used to have or maybe still have nightbreakers to and dont remember them being that white?

I bought them off Amazon .. Literally typed in Canbus Free Led sidelights, And bought a set. One is faulty and gives me a warning - but I am getting a replacement. Yeah the Orsrams are quality - better than the Phillips equivalent... I have both.. So I would know haha

They look smart! I have the same set up with the lights and they look amazing!

Finally got some strips for the footwells - just the front two and the boot I think - don't really want to light up the whole world. Will get a PIC when they are in, I'm utterly useless with electronics so have to recruit my friend, should be some time next week

Let me know when you get them installed. Mine are on order and I'm dreading fitting them tbh

I'm looking forward to seeing them. Mine should be here tomorrow. I will be asking you how you got on mind :p

All done. Went really well. I will take some picture later on when its darker..

Anyone looking to have Led sidelights - there is a simple fix. This.. A load resistor bought of eBay, worked a treat. No more errors, so that's nice

1. Please can you put a link to which you bought. I have bought this only to still get errors.
2. How have you put the cap back on the back of the headlight i found them to be too big and resting on the rubber cap. These get very hot being a resistor i imagine so i was worried it would just melt away at the rubber after a period of time.

First of all I'm not sure if we are allowed to link things to other sites - so I can tell you exactly what to type in "2 x LED 501 T10 W5W Wedge Canbus no error load resistor"

My friend (electrical competent) said that it is a ceramic style resistor and they do not generate too much heat.

There isn't actually that much cable.
Just follow the curve of the space you have, also if you do need to make room.. You could easily cut the cable then make it shorter using a crimp or solder?

Hope I helped

Yup thanks, sorry I should of known better think you are right about the links.
I ran LED's without the resistors for a bit and ignored the error, but after a couple of months one of them died so i swapped back to standard bulbs.

Hey mate, just outside now.. Its bloody freezing -tested the heat from them for 10 mins running and I can still touch them easily.. So I don't think that they will burn through anything .. Fingers crossed.. If you do buy them please test them yourself because I don't want to be the reason behind a light melting haha .. Best of luck mate, I'll update this if they break or catch fire to anything

Thermal paste. Has anyone used this to try and regulate a resistors temp before? One of my friends mentioned it. And I use it for my custom PC build. So would it work on a heatsink on a resistor for my sidelights? Wanted some car advice before actually doing it though
