More than likely back. Tbh if had dpf on it more than likely would of seen the dial on dash come up when regeneration kicks in. But read some don't have the dial :-( if due a service just ask the garage to check for you ;-)

Not sure where you heard this, I've yet to find any car that tells you when its re genning, will normally only throw a light up on start up with the prechecks or if there is an issue that occours.

That's what meant to put but half asleep last night when put it. Will teach me to not comment when half asleep :p

But cars don't have a dial at all, this is the point I'm making, only a light, and if driven properly it won't ever have to require a forced regen or the light even coming on when driving.

I'm not familiar with those engines, but normally, the DPF is nearer the front of the car to get it hot. They're usually the next box after the cat. They're the only box that has small bore pipes coming off them (they're pressure sensors so that they can tell when they need a regen). My guess is that it would be round about where tthe gear lever is or slightly ahead of that. If the OP can't easily get underneath, possibly find a cooperative teenager (if there is such a thing!) and ask it to take a video on their mobile phone with the phone taped to a stick that can be pushed under the car, bomb-disposal squad style.

In most cars its actually in the manifold, especially with later DPFs (y)

Does anyone knows if its true that on the Dpf cars it is written on the ecu number?
