General Removing an Alternator

Hi , I am trying to remove and replace an alternator on my 2007 1.4 , having difficulty removing the alternator,it has air con. do i have to remove the air con first or not? ant replies would be grateful thanks

Hi just take bolts out on the air con then you can move it out of the way & get to the top bolt on alternator hope this helps .

Obviously i don't know the facilities you have access to..If you have access to a ramp you can remove the alternator from beneath,Or put the car on axle stands .When i did mine i had the luxury of a ramp and an aircon machine so i could unbolt the aircon compressor..I'm not sure how much movement you get just unbolting the compressor with the pipes still connected.Some people would just empty aircon in to the atmosphere ,but be aware gas is dodgy and it is illegal to empty it in to the atmosphere
