Whilst driving I pressed my clutch pedal in and it got stuck down, I can pull it back up but when depressed it sticks again. I can't select any gears.

I believe it's the slave cylinder, but is there anything I can do now? Since I'm stuck outside a farm in the lake district 100 miles from home.

It's probably got a leak as its hydraulic.

If you can select gears when engine off, stick in 2nd and start cad and it should pull off.

It works on older cars when clutch cable snaps.

You just need to switch engine off before every gear change

still stuck????

Sorry for the late reply mate. All is well now. I was convinced it was my slave cylinder so joined the RAC so they could tow me, but it turns out the clip that holds the pipe on had come loose and I lost all my clutch fluid. Top up with fluid and re-securing the hose did the trick.

Thanks for your concern, I ended up having a brilliant time in the Lake District because I was so happy the car wasn't broken lol. I'll be updating my MM thread tomorrow with pics.
