for any of you who have experienced the common turbo to intercooler hose perishing/bursting, ive found a solution :)

took mine off, and using a micrometer, measured internal and external dimensions, and lengths, and have ordered and received a silicone equivalent, which is fluoro lined, making it oil and fuel proof. fitting tomo, it is slightly longer than standard, so when i remove old one, will cut down the new one to match.

here it is if anyone wants to invest:

£11.99 delivered :)

and while your at it, replace the old rusty clips with 2 45-60mm jcs stainless clamps, £5.31 delivered:

fitted the hose today, no cutting of pipe required, fits like a glove, boost feels stronger now, pretty sure it was leaking through both ends originally.

so £11.99 for a fluoro lined silicone hose, should never have to worry about it bursting again, or paying the circa £100 to fiat for the "hose it" as they wont sell you the individual hose!

Yeah suppose you right, just like to have the choice:D. Will be doing this when I get my car back. Thanks mate

heres a brief guide:

jack up front end of car

insert two axle stands(1 each side)
remove undertray if still fitted using philips screwdriver(or could be torx, mine were defo philips)
find hose in question on drivers side of engine
remove jubilees with 7mm socket
pull off hose, pull faces at how much oily crap is in your old hose
fit new fluoro silicone hose with 2 new stainless jubilees.
refit undertray, remove axle stands and away you go, safe in the knowledge you should never have to give fiat dealer over £100 for a crappy hose kit!

it says on listing - uk within 5 working days
EU / ROW Delivery within : 21 working Days

so if you ordered on 21st april - delivery is within 21 working days which would be by:

22nd may... so a while to wait yet!

No I'm in the Netherlands.
I ordered multiple times through ebay and always got a confirm that the payment was processed, but not this time.
Did get a message today it was shipped, so can't wait to fit it.

I have a problem with the pipe that goes from the intercooler to the metal pipe (on the drivers side) it is not the 90 degree one that goes to the turbo... it is straight but with a dog leg in it, im looking for some alternative to fiats 140 pound solution! cant find it on ePER, or any aftermarket Kits@ containing this pipe (only the 1.4 T-Jet)

any ideas as to a solution? i dont mind doing away with all the originals and replacing them with new stuff... I have straight metal pipe that is the correct diamiter for these pipes to go over and clamp on.

Cheers,
Mike

would this pipe your saying cause my turbo wistle,i know turbo's do wistle

youd know if it was split/perished for a few reasons:

boost would be escaping out of hose instead of to the engine, so engine will be low on power, and the noise is a loud whooshing sound.

lots of black smoke due to losing boost

Sorry to jump in on this one but....

What are the symptoms of a failing hose, my GP has done 70k now and it has never had this part replaced
