Re: 1.2 8v remap? worth doing?

Only the internals are slightly different and ecu is showing more bhp power. A friend of mine has the 1.4 8v and I have a 1.2 with gsr induction kit, about the same now. I doubt they come out the factory as the figures state.

Re: 1.2 8v remap? worth doing?

Try to hold off a camshaft from a 1.2 75HP Mk1 punto + Remap + filter/exhaust (you already have) and you will see a decent difference. Very cheap upgrade with the best gains for this engine.

Re: 1.2 8v remap? worth doing?

Why can't I just get the camshaft from the 77bhp grande punto?.

They will help cure your heavy right foot

As for the remap ... I believe they are rubbish for performance for our cars but are supposed to make your fuel consumption better ... Thats the reason I think I'm going to look into one

Cheers

no good doing them now you are supposed to do them before the remap then get the map written to make the most of them

Its not mapped correctly then.
A custom tune is the correct way to do a remap.

Copying a map tuned on another engine may not be right for your engine, you have to take into account engine wear, how old it is, its current condition etc, not every engine that is built is identical either due to imperfections or adjustments.

Seriously dont rag your engine, probably not as risky on an NA motor as a turbo or supercharged engine but all the same applies really!
