I have a 57 plate fiat grande punto 1.2 active

My fan heater was on yesterday then decided to stop working. it then went on and off again and has never come back on since.

As the fan went back on and off im guessing it cant have been a blown fuse as it would have just stopped straight away?

Can someone please advise on how to fix the problem or what the problem is??

This was happening to mine, sometimes the heater would work from settings 1-3 but never worked on 4.

I managed to get it fixed by my dealer who I still had a bit of warranty with.

It has something to do with the pin in the back of the knob. Maybe try and take of the knob to see if the pin is worn down at the back.

I'm not too sure how much it would cost to fix, but don't think it is a DIY job.

This happened to mine about a week ago, the heater was working in the morning and later that day had stopped completely. Apparently this is a common issue with the grande punto. I took mine to the garage of a family friend, it cost me £384 to fix. All of the wires were burnt everything needed replacing. Really hope that this isnt the case with yours but it does sound very similar

Hi,

This happend to my wifes PG 07 plate, it would work on 4 but not 1, 2, 3 setting 4 bypasses the resistor, the wife smell'ed a faint burning and that was the resistor. But i removed the fan motor ( and all the old leaves) lol
put it back together and still the same ??? came on to this forum and searched and found all the info i needed. Rang Stonacre Worksop and £18 later fitted the new resistor in two mins.
Someone was trying to sell a USED resistor for £25 plus postage ????????????? on ebay.

I had this same problem, I disconnected the connector block under the passenger side foot-well (5 wire) gave it a quick blow and all was fine. Every now and then I would have to give it a little tap but it would come back on. After a while I started to get intermittent warnings on the dash I checked the connector again and on closer look 2 of the 5 cables have been burnt out. But heater still works every cloud I suppose

i was just wondering if anyone knows how to change the resistor on my grande 06 plate .
many thanks

Hi, I Have a 06 Punto & the fan is u/s how do you remove the glove box & motor? LenV:cry:

i really like the look of the grande punto i want a t jet nut the bad reviews and problems are putting me off (n)

Your on a fiat site, most people come here when they have issues. Considering the huge number of Fiats on the road it's a small percentage...very few people come here to say how good their car is;)

My advice is go for a good long test drive, it's a buyers market out there.

check history, what has been done etc...if garage/seller cant supply this info or doesn't seem to think it's that important because it's all nice and shiny then walk away...plenty around as you rightly say:)

Good evening. The fan motor has stopped working on all 4 speeds now in my Punto Grande. Could you please tell me where the resistor pack is located. for the last few months I could jiggle the connector block in the passenger footwell to get it working but even that has stopped working now!

Go to the passenger side footwell right in the far right corner you will be able to fell a plastic rectangle normally they have a plastic release on them but some may be screwed in they are easy to replace. I've only had my car a few months and managed to replace it easily but if your struggle put into YouTube 'fiat grande punto resistor' there's tutorials on there. Hope this has helped
