So many people say not to bother remapping an n/a engine like the 1.4 16v but i can now prove otherwise!
I have a 1.4 16v dynamic sport and today ive been to p-torque in wolverhampton to have a custom remap. Now the ecu cannot be read so ive only had the fuelling adjusted at present and 'will' the owner is getting the full file sorted in the next week to sort the timing etc..
Well at present i have a longlife car back exhaust and a k&n induction kit and with the fuelling being adjusted i am now running 115BHP at the wheels!!! 20BHP increase over standard and once he can sort the final map we should see 120BHP!
Waste of money?..... I think not! :D

Just out of interest how much was that?

P-torque are highly recommended from the vag scene, few mates with seats have been down there and got great results on the 1.8t and 2.0 tfsi engines.

Fiat's figures are at the flywheel (95bhp), transmission losses means the figure at the wheels will be 10-15% less, so to have 115bhp at the road wheels after just changing the fuelling is total tosh.

Yes p-torque are very well known on the vag scene and bmw scene! He has had a few t-jets and m-jets too not sure if its been anyone off here. He charges £265 for a run on the rolling road, custom remap and then a final power run to see the gains but the price varies on what you actually want from him!
And even if i have got it wrong and the power is at the flywheel its still close to a t-jet and i know for a fact his rolling road is correct as i had a ford focus remapped, his rolling road said 128bhp and i had it tested again at french car show 2010 and that rolling road also showed the same figure just weeks after he tuned it! ;)

Just to clear things up......
Will at p-torque removed the ecu and read as much as the data from it as he possibly could which included all of the cars fueling information, with this he was able to adjust it (not boost it) so the car knows we have better quality fuel and make the most of it.
He is currently waiting for the full file for the starjet and once he has it he ia going to create a more customised map to suit the car!
No short cuts just professional work ;)

Why does everybody seem to find 115bhp funny???
Why would i lie?!
It was exactly the same with the saxo lot when with the same mods i had my vtr running 120bhp!
Will at p-torque was surprised at how well the car reacted to the tuning so goes to show that the 1.4 16v engine does have more to give than people think!!!

sorry mate need uprated cams and proper breathing mods to get anything out of the 8v vtr so it wasn't 120 and your gp is DEFINITELY not 115bhp. maybe 97 and smoother revs. you'd need a lot more to even achieve 100.

I'd like to say this is true, but we need the graphs laddy!

sounds too good to be true. at what rpm was the max bhp?

not sure if it is possible at all with just an intake and exhaust upgrade. 20% for a 1.4 TC is not easy to achieve, not to say NA.

I know ur all saying he must be wrong but..why would he lie?. He's not gaining anything out of it telling all of us..

I believe you and good for you if those are the gains you've got, must feel great! ..only 5hp off a tjet :)
