I have got a grande punto sporting 1.4 16v... I know everywhere all the statistics say 111mph top speed.. has anyone been able to get much more out of theirs? Ive not had a chance to push mine yet as ive not long passed my test haha!

Hope to hear from someone !

George

Well since the speed limit in the UK is 70 mph..... if you want to try it out book yourself on a track day.... If you have just past your test consider pass plus or the IAM Last thing we want on here is to hear of an accident involving our members been fool hardy

to add some more to your confidence levels lol, I crashed my first car twice in the space of 3 or 4 months after passing, thankful that I did it then or could have been alot worse.

just be careful out there and take things slowly you cant put a price on life.

RIP in advance either to yourself and/or the people you kill.

Moron.

My 2001 mk2 1.2 could do 111mph so GP Sporting 1.4 should top that.

Please use that as reference rather trying it out for yourself.

Did it on m56 to preston on a quiet sunday evening, I had been passed couple of years but

I WAS STILL A DICK FOR DOING IT THEN!

So do us all favour and stick around being useful, than being another turd bumping up premiums

Clearly a few people on here can't put 2 and 2 together.
I have been passed for 4 months - obviously not very long but long enough to have tried to go that fast if a) I wanted and b) was stupid enough to do so.

The reason I am asking - is because I don't drive like that, and don't want to drive like that any time soon. If I was a moron.. I would of tried it out myself by now.

Maybe if people like 'Magic Johnson' got a brain cell and was able to work that out and reallise the reason I am asking is because I DON'T KNOW... then I might be able to get a sensible answer. Moron.

Just...just...*face > palm*

Ive been driving just under a year and Ive had my experience of scary driving and Ive made mistakes that Im still paying for in one way or another.
Ive been in a pretty serious road accident when I was younger which involved a Pr**k in a cavalier plowing into the back of our old escort at 95 on the M25 near Thorpe park. Luckily no one was really badly hurt apart from the driver of the cavvy, (4 broken ribs, smashed face, no teeth, broken wrist and a black eye off my dad 3 months later). I still remember it like it was yesterday and its put me off motorways all together.

My advice to you mate is drive like your expected to drive. Keep to the limits and drive safely, but have fun!
And most of all, dont make every one else's insurance expensive ;)

Cheers
Tom
