Hey,

Trading in my Corsa SRi 1.6 Turbo petrol for a Fiat grande punto 1.9 Sporting..

What can be expected from a remap, seen places and posts ranging from 160-190. And has anyone tried using the EDS IPF remapping tool as it works on the vauxhall 1.9 engine...

Anyone got any mod ideas too..

Its a black 3 door, thinking about rear tints, gun metal alloys, remap and maybe light tint on headlights.

:)

You can make 160-165 hp with stock turbo. If you wanna more power you should make a turbo upgrade (gt2256,KKKBV50,GTB2056V) for 240hp-500Nm.
My car running 220-230 hp with KKKBV50( 159/brera 2.4mjtd 200hp turbo )

Thanks for some info lads :) Only reason I said about the EDS was because I already have it as use it on my 1.6 T.

Ill probs just go red dot. Where are they based...

Wanting about 170ish bhp out of her and high torque, whats the best panel filter for these too...

Well it aint just eds, custom turbo technics turbo, evoms diverter valve, cobra precat pipe, k and n panel filter etc..

Runs around 240 bhp and 280-300 lb ft of torque. Its seriously fast, just dont want its running costs no more.

With a redot remap you will be looking at about 185bhp and 300lb ft torque.

I and many others have redot remaps, mine was done 34,000 miles and the car is running fine. But take it easy with the clutch and gearbox.

I have been tempted with a hybrid turbo, but never got round to it.

Plenty of other mods if you have the time and money.

I have had fun tweaking mine!

That sounds good to me, its just quite a drive, is there any other tuning companies closer as their map will just be a generic one anyway i.e. tms or eds in the vauxhall world. So if one company gives 185 so will lots of others...

Currently got a hybrid on my corsa, spins up alot faster and just keeps on pulling.

What kind of mpg can be expected after a remap and doing mixed motorway and town driving...

Im in the midlands btw near derby.

It won't be a generic one. Most of the generic maps only give 160-170

You sure... custom maps are usually more like 600 quid. Dont know any companies that do custom really, not big companies, like courtenay sport, thorney etc use tms superchips which is bluefin.. BHP varies as there are different maps.

Celtic tuning say 186 bhp from theirs.

Positive mate, they put it on a RR and it's a custom one, remap is about 350-400, better off contacting tune4performance, last time he quoted me 200 for a custom map.

Okay Thanks for the help :)

Ill just have to look at the options when Ive got the punto, should pick it up saturday.

Where abouts do you post progress threads and pictures of your car on this site...

Sorry used to the corsa forum layout :p

Realistically your looking at 160bhp and 300ft lbs in my opinion. Any more and you will be needing a new clutch fairly soon. My clutch slips now on a low power map but a red dot mapped punto that was claimed 180bhp it couldn't get any where near my punto. I had mine mapped at Sanspeed tuning, one of the few places I would let touch my car.

MPG wise, I give mine a hard life to be honest and it seems to average around 43mpg constant. Never really see less than 370 mile to a tank of Shell V power diesel. On a long run it will do far better but mine is used for fairly short bursts/dual carriage way driving mainly.

I personally wouldnt go to celtic or angel tuning, seen far to many of their cars go bang. They just seem to like getting maximum power for the customer without taking into consideration what's actually safe for the car.

All opinion at end of the day though.

Also too much power and you will shat the turbo, they are not the best standard turbo for going power chasing. I'm looking into the turbo from the Astra/Fiat Chroma 1.9 16 150bhp engine, this turbo is good for around 200bhp.
