Hi people, sadly my Fiat has a problem :(

The city mode button is jammed. As in I can press the button in (but it takes a bit of strength to), and if it is pressed in it very slowly returns to its original state (so city mode can never really be used).

There is nothing stuck in between the dashboard buttons, so the thing I thought of is that the city mode button's spring is broken?

Anyone had this issue or problem before? If anyone has any advice I would very much appreciate it.

Thank you :)

I know it's not exactly resolving it but best not to use city mode as it humps the power steering quicker than normal (apparently).
I heard that too. We don't use it at all normally so its not a missed button.
We were looking to possibly sell the car though, and get the new Punto Evo. So i need the car to be in tip top shape :(

If you are planning on part exing the car than i wouldn't worry about it just don't tell them.

I've never used city mode steering in the five years that I've owned mine. The steering is quite light at all times. It's possible that larger diesel engines make steering heavy at low speeds but I doubt it's really necessary. Just forget it.
You could always work some switch cleaner or WD40 into the switch around the button to try to make it work properly.

Im the same, I find the steering to be light anyway.

Thank you for the suggestion about WD40 though I will try it :)

Personaly i won't use WD40 on electrical switchs, contact cleaner would be much safer and much cleaner as well as being designed for the task.

I was so giddy about that city button when i got the car, but i never really use it even when parking. It is like u say, ridiculously light with no feedback.
