I own a 2006 Grande Punto before we start..
Well tonight i was driving about and as i took a strong right hander... the stereo went now i know that the previous owner had left bare wires for AMP & SUB in the back so i reckon that those are still live and the corner has shorted the connection and blown the stereo fuse. Not a problem, just electrical wire the end of the connections in the boot and replace the fuse.. right?
WELL- I opened up my Fiat Manual and it states that the Stereo's fuse is called F51.
According to the manual, this fuse is located at the bottom right of the steering wheel behind the little cove in the dash. So i pull this piece of plastic out and i see.... nothing. No fusebox, just a fixed block connector that is clearly where the old fuse box used to be.
I checked the other fuse boxes and none have this F51 fuse for the stereo.
Also in the manual it states exactly, "To gain access to the fuses in the fuse box on the dashboard, loosen the fastening screws and remove cover" My dash doesnt have this fastening screws and it just pulls out.
Am i looking in the wrong place? or can it be that the D*Head who owned the car previously has moved the fusebox?! A good friend of mine believes that it could be behind the Windows center in the glove box?!
Need help desperately before i give it to fiat and could get a nasty bite in the wallet...
