Hi,

I bought my 1.9GPS last march from TJ Vickers Shrewsbury. It had 6310 miles on the clock. In the service book, its had a:

Pre-Delivery Service

1st Service @ 6310 miles
Oil/Oil Filter Change
Service

Dealers Stamp in the book.

Im just abit worried because im now on 24000 miles and the service indicator is set to come on at 24300. Is this usual? It seems quite along time between services.

Also while im posting.
I went to get in my car yesterday it had frozen over night and I went to put my car in reverse and the gear stick didnt want to. It only wanted to go in 3rd and 4th. After abit of force it did go into gear.
Hasnt happened again, is this common for the gearbox to freeze?

Thanks in advance

Ive rang fiat up today for a quote on my 24000miles service. Ive been quoted £169, because its a low millage service. Ive also got a £50 voucher off the service.

Well the guy in the service dept said i was able to get a low millage service because im under 36000 miles.

I don't get the whole "low mileage service" thing. Regularly using the car for low distance trips is tougher on the engine than doing a few hundred miles a week. So surely, it should mean a low mileage service is more thorough

I bought a Punto in August 2009,a 57 plate. There was 13500 miles on the clock and was serviced just before I bought it. I have just went over 18000 miles and it has come up on my dashboard that my service coupon has expired and there is a little spanner showing which won't go away. Was never told about any service coupon and didn't think it would need another service so soon. Any advice?

It'll go away in a few hundred miles... but a decent garage would have re-set the Service Counter for you.
