My lights :(

hi

i bought some after market lights from ebay they are great but i get a warning saying check day time running lights. these are little led's like the audi ones, apparently its due to a lower electrical resistance, my car thinks its a fault, is there any solution to this? they work for a few mins then go off every time

Re: My lights :(

You need to put a resistor in the circuit for the car to not see there is a fault. Theres info on here about it, im not sure what size resistor etc. you would need.

Take them off if there for LHD. You might think the beam looks the same, but it isnt. They are designed for cars that drive on the opposite side of the road, therefore the dipped beam will point the OPPOSITE way. The ratings for the UK will be the RHD version

Fiat wont give you the numbers, you will have to find them for yourself. Maybe you should have done some research before buying?

Re: My lights :(

That isnt true. It still doesnt excuse the fact that you will be blinding motorists coming in the other direction. All very clever

Send them back then, and get some proper UK-legal lights.

If they can turn it off it wont do much, only stop the light on the dash coming on. The led will still go off after a few mins if you say that happens.

I tried the LEDs on my car but they just flashed really fast so took them out.

Just got a good set of side light and they work fine and look good.
