Technical DIY Bespoke/Custom MJet Induction kit

Back from the rollers at weekend!

We are up 8bhp and 15 ft-lb of torque with my new induction, and thats before any map tweaks etc!

Result 80 for a 5% gain, pretty decent.

Next up i think is getting the intake temp down a little further, we had 40 degrees in the intake versus 10 in the winter.

Brilliant read this, you were taking about keeping intake temps lower is ther anyway of using a forced air induction in your set up, if your willing to lose a fog light lol, at the moment dont ask haha ive got a cold air feed coming from under the bumper up through the arch tht rests on the induction as well as stock cold air feed, which looks as if it does *** all anyway, have you got any wild ideas for colder air?

Wouldn't need a cold air feed for this kit down in the arch the air is really cold compared to anywhere else in the bay.
Could get a forced feed like the gruppe m for ctr's in the scuttle pannel not sure if it's do able!

Had a play in Photoshop and lined these up earlier.

Nice to see that theres way more torque and power lower down and for a sustained period. The darker lines are the "After" reading.

Re: Measurements MJET Induction

I no this is an old thread, but how did you attach the breather, where the "?" is ?? thanks.

Re: Measurements MJET Induction

There's also a reducer in mine that was custom made (by a truck company near by).

I can't remember the two diameters but, the standard alloy T piece is a little wider than the breather hose.

Not sure if the new owner is on here but if you are in the North West then come to the Illuminations meet and see it for real :)

Re: Measurements MJET Induction

OK so thanks to Adam (adamcot) who's lent me his standard airbox gear. I've now got the measurements and have ordered the parts I need.

Diagram below for anyone else who may like to try, including sizes parts and prices.

Parts from Auto Performance Silicone Hoses http://www.auto-performance.co.uk/ - Silver is Alloy, Blue is Silicone, Black is a standard part of the system and I have a lovely pink turbo.

Filter arrived today ahead of the rest of the bits (Love Royal Mail Muchly) sadly it was silver not gold, so me being me popped it onto the MAF but not before taking some before airmass readings.

Sounds totally amazing if a little loud (Linz hates the sound) but hopefully that will quieten when the pipework arrives and I can redirect the filter into some nice cold air down in the bumper.

Graph shows a significant increase with the cone onto the MAF and that on average there is almost a 13% increase in airflow.

Some of the After data points are all over the place as I think i became a little lead footed due to the sound, but all of the outliers are filtered out of the final stats below.

Sorry for being all scientifical but if I'm doing it then I'm proving its worthwhile.

I'll update this over the weekend once pipework is in place (Assuming it arrives) and maybe some stats from a GSR too. Which undoubtably will be better as the insides of it are 100% smooth and its not been designed by me :)

Hi alexh365
I am trying to do the same as you with the custom induction system but want to keep the original box and pipercross square panel I have in it.
Do you have any suggestions on the pipework as am having a hard time locating the proper sizes and amount of degrees on pipework.
