Punto Evo

As much as I personally like the redesign that is the Punto Evo as I've ordered one. I can't help but think that Punto will look a bit less unique and more similar to it's french rivals with the chunky bumpers. Also I think the black bumper inserts (metallic on higher models) should have been available as body colour too.

Anyone think the same?

My GP is fully painted, no black bumper strips and it's shame the new one will, well mines going to have metallic but not much better really ...

The back lights look swish and so do all the extra's the Evo comes with so it's going to feel alot different to own I hope

I've also ordered an Evo, Eleganza in Progressive Black.
The looks, well yeah i agree it might not look quite as "unique" compared to the new 2010/2011 models of other cars coming out, there all pretty "busy" on the front etc, but that doesnt bother me too much.

One thing that did bug me however, the bumper inserts, Hell yes they should of had colour coded options too! bumper inserts are there to stop minor damage to the front end, personally my cars 10 years old & the theres no dents on my front end!

And yeah, my Eleganza has "Metallic" inserts too, which i think look worse than the standard black but eh nevermind! as long as you get the right colour it'll look good Blue / White / Black / Red look pretty nice so far. (Red is especially agressive, nice for the GP.)

Also, im annoyed the Eleganza doesnt come with the sound system upgrade option, that really bugged me as i like my audio to be clear/loud/deep... i just hope the standard system is good enough.... i know the GP i listened to with the subwoofer installed was great.... but i guess worst case scenario, ill take it to uplands & get them to professionally fit something stealthy in the boot & hopefully it shouldnt shaft the warranty as there about as professional as it gets.

Re: Punto Evo

If you bought an EVO from Fiat Supasaver would it come with the 3 years free servicing?

Re: Up close to an EVO

How much is 3 years free servicing worth? If you can save £2400 at Fiat supa saver I am guessing that that is still as good as the scrappage scheme plus 3 years free servicing and you have your own car to sell privately.

3 years servicing I valued at about £800.... that said, I dont know what fiat charges for services, but £800 is what I valued & imagine thats correct give or take £100.

Re: Up close to an EVO

More importantly is the punto EVO going to get a new section of its own?

Hope so! us Evo owners dont wanna share the same forum as the clapped out grande's :P

*Puts on fireproof suit!*

But seriously, the Evo does seem to be very different to the Grande Punto... think it warrants its own forum otherwise grande punto forum is just going to get confused with issues concerning evo/gp

Re: Up close to an EVO

Serious suggestion - I think that the GP and Evo shoould be sub-forums under a generic Punto heading. So you could also have sub-forums for the various incarnations of Punto under there too

Alternatively - give the Evo a sub-forum in the GP one It is the GPs b!tch anyway

I'll agree with the "Punto" header and a Evo / Grande

Evo on top ofc, alphabetical order.

:P maybe it would be easier just to give it a new forum or sommit lol

That's OK. Your suggestion also fits in with the playground rhyme of "first the worst, second the best"

Re: Up close to an EVO

Nah we don't need another section still a Grande Punto at the end of the day. So don't be getting above yourselves and try disowning granade drivers because your new car has the word evo in it lol

I think the more i see the evo the more i get used to it's quirky front and rear..

I've seen the black one in Forward Auto's showroom, which is in progressive black

Could be tempted, but i don't know yet..

Sorry, but some things just need correcting Although I have to admit - the interior is rather nice.
