Ok so I know I can jack the car up via the re-inforced sections on the sill or the special boxes on either side at the front.

I want to jack it up in the middle though to do some maintenance, is there a central point I can jack it from to get both axle stands in at once?

I read that thread lol, I want to know if there is anywhere reinforced behind the engine or gearbox I can jack from too lift the car evenly on both sides rather than jacking the passenger side and then the driver side. I don't fancy jacking one side when the other is perched on an axle stand(n)

Thus far I can only see the ramp attachment boxes mentioned in the post Andy linked to:bang::bang::bang:

i always use something like this:

Very droll. I have a the left edge of 3 parking spaces to the rear of my house and an 8' by 12' shed:bang::bang::bang::bang: so I am restricted to a trolley jack.

Could you jack it similar to the old Mk1's on the bit on the gearbox??

Failing that I'm going to have to save up for some low gradient ramps, given the mileage I'm at I'll just the money when the brakes go, now theres an ironic situation:rolleyes:

Bit of a thread resurrection here but:

I want to jack the car up from the middle so I don't have to jack one side up then place and axle stand then jack the other as I don't fancy it teetering on the stand.

Does anyone know where under the car at the front and back I should place my trolley jack to lift both sides of the car at the same time?

Cheers,
Jacob

It shouldn't teeter on a stand, if it does then you've not put it the in the correct place.

Stands are always safer than a jack when working under a vehicle. Never go under a vehicle when its only in the air with a jack!

I do place the stands in the correct place but it leaves one side of the car very high on the axle stand before you can place the next one and the car isn't supported very well at that point.

Plus the fact that it would be twice as quick and a whole lot easier to jack from the centre then being able to place both stands at the same time.

I never go under a car without stands.
