Can you get cruise control fitted to a 07 reg 1.4 active sport grande punto and at what cost? What Fiat be able to do this?

Retro fitting is a nigtmare and expensive

New indcator/cruise unit
Steering wheel off to fit it
It will not work as you will need a new body computer and
No guarantees it will work (even Fiat do not know if it will work, as we have asked)

I will let you know in November when we (royal we) try for one last time!!

My Stilo was plug and play - if only this time

Bringing this thread back to life, I recently purchased a 2008 Grande punto 1.9 jtd emotion, it has esp, traction control and other bells and whistles except cruise control and I love cruise control. Fiat S.A will do it but for an arm and a leg, is it possible to do it myself like some of the other members did with there old stilos?

I would really like to not give fiat my arm as I want to use it to activate the cruise control.

Thanks guys.

OK to summarise I had a cruise control unit and a new body computer fitted. Fiat dealers can not activate the cruise control functionality. However Redot tuning in the UK are using some new Italian software called Leonardo which they reckon can activate the cruise control functionality. Just need to arrange a trip to London!

All in all a very expensive extra - if you can get it working!

OK I called into Redot yesterday and a number of attempts were made using the Leonardo software yesterday.

No luck I am afraid. They have an engineer who is in Italy working with the software manufacturers so when he returns I will call in again and try again.

Thats dissapointing to hear especially when we know the Italians are using this to enable it.
