Hey all,

Just got myself a Grande Punto 1.9 Multijet Sporting (3dr). It's got the panoramic roof- does anyone know if you can still fit roof bars to it??

No, I dont think you can

The roof bars now supplied by Fiat are Thule and I think are a different fitting to the previous GP roof bars.

I have a Thule set and suspect they should fit. Open the door and have a look for a small hole/recess. If these are there this is were the front roof bar seats itself.

The bars themselves sit quite high on the car. Just dont try and open the roof!

I spent ages talking to fiat through my local dealer and were told that the fiat roof bars (thule) were not for cars with sky dome roof this is only because the roof opens!

So i ordered them and they fit perfectly just got to make sure i don't open the roof!

Just mounted a roof box for my 5dr GP with sky dome roof (see pic) and had no problems.

Specs as follows:

Box:- Karrite Odyssey 325 litre Roof Box (perhaps could have got a bigger box, but was worried about it being/looking too big)
Bars:- Thule 761 Rapid System Black Roof Bars (120cm)
Feet:- Thule 750 Rapid System Gutterless Foot Pack
Feet Kit:- Thule Rapid Fitting Kit 1413

Assembly and fitting was super easy. The rubber feet pads do sit a bit on the glass so I had to be careful when mounting. The feet adaptor kit has pins that fit into the mounting holes at the front doors. The rear feet were then located a specific distance rearward from the front feet based on dimensions given in the assembly instructions (for info: this doesn't line up with the indents at the rear doors - are these for a specific Fiat system??)

Just been to Ireland and back with this system and it didn't budge an inch!

So it CAN be done with a panoramic roof!!

with sunroof!

Will Punto Evo roof rack fit GP from 2006?

One guy is selling them brand new dead cheap, so I was thinking to grab them. But not sure if I can fit them

In theory it should fit, there are 2 different sets of feet on my roof bars ones with and ones without the glass roof and there are different roof bars for the 5 door cars. I can’t imagine fiat changed much in terms of roof bar fitting between the grande and evo

Whats the difference between sunroof feet and none? Mine is 5d with sunroof

The cars with out the glass roof have a bead of plastic along the roof line the cups sit in to locate the pad, the glass roof ones have a narrower lip in the pad to fit the line of the panel gap between the glass and the body of the car, I don’t think there is much in it but putting the wrong ones on, and the pads don’t sit properly on the roof
